This isn't a defense of comedy, I don't find Daniel Tosh to be funny. I also think you are being much more violent than he was. You claim that rape is a problem for women, and so you are the bigot. Next, you claim that since you don't find some bad joke to be funny, we should begin policing what gets spoken on stage. Tosh likely told jokes about genocide, racism, beating the shit out of misogynists, and she sat there and laughed at all of them until the table got turned around on herself.
How am I being violent?
How does stating (not claiming) that rape is a problem for women make me a bigot?
Are you saying that I’m saying that I think that if a comedian isn’t funny then he shouldn’t be on a stage? If so, then yes, I do think that’s true. If he’s not funny, get the hook.
Tosh “likely told jokes about… beating the shit out of misogynists”? You think that’s likely based on what?
And if he told racist, unfunny jokes in front of a mixed race crowd, you’d better believe he’d get his ass handed to him.
Same goes for genocide jokes in front of genocide survivors.
So why wouldn’t rape jokes in front of rape survivors get him criticized?
blueandbluer said:"You claim that rape is a problem for women, and so you are the bigot." Is there a planet where this makes sense? Is this person saying rape is NOT a problem for women? I just… I… I can’t.
